Core Barre 'On The Slanted Wedge'
COURSE SUMMARY
CORE BARRE ‘On The Slanted Wedge’ is a group based program that is based on the applications and principles of the original CORE BARRE certification course. This workshop is available to CORE BARRE Certified Smart Movement® Instructors.
The 55 minute class follows the same format and syllabus as the CORE BARRE class. A standing warm-up is performed in the center bringing awareness to posture and form, mobility to the spine and movement at the joints.
The CORE BARRE Slanted Wedge, a small dense foam wedge, is introduced at the Barre series and is used throughout for all the Mat exercises performed in supine, prone, side lying and seated positions.
At the Barre, the Slant promotes excellent work for ankle dorsiflexion and planter flexion, adds support for the knees and brings awareness of bilateral and unilateral stability in all standing positions. During the mat portion, the wedge adds challenge to abdominal exercises by changing its angles to increase the intensity but also providing spinal support.
Discover how the different angles of the Slanted Wedge can be used as a versatile tool to challenge a group class while keeping in line with CORE BARRE concepts and syllabus.
